Why More Frequent Replacement Is Better
Frequent replacement lenses help cultivate improved compliance, thus decreasing the risks of many deposit-related complications such as giant papillary conjunctivitis. In my opinion, daily disposables are a good option for patients that have problems with contact lens compliance.
I will even occasionally recommend patients replace their lenses more frequently than the manufacturer recommended schedule (e.g., monthly lenses replaced every two weeks, or two week lenses replaced weekly) if patients have been found to rapidly deposit lenses and have other ocular surface issues.
