Fitting Tip of the Month
Choosing the Right Lens for the Patient
For example, I usually will fit a daily disposable lens for patients desiring convenience or patients that suffer from perennial allergic conjunctivitis. For patients with high ametropia or patients that over wear their lenses (more than 13 hours a day or continuous wear), I fit them in a high Dk lens to reduce corneal hypoxia and conjunctival hyperemia.
In today's marketplace, almost every type of visual correction is available in each modality. This not only simplifies the lens selection process for the doctor but, most importantly, it meets the desired goals for our patients!
