CLToday Fitting Tip of the Month

Talking to patients about compliance
I believe the most important thing a doctor can do to enhance contact lens compliance in their practice is to ask each and every patient how they wear and care for their lenses. Ask how often they replace their lenses and how often they sleep in them. Ask patients to describe which solutions they are using (specifically) and how they use them. If patients have been prescribed therapeutic medications, ask what drops they are using and how they are using them.
Have your staff watch patients clean their lens.  The key here is to ask patients about compliance. You’ll learn a lot about them and they will know you are paying attention!

ACUVUE® ADVANCE™ Brand Contact Lenses for ASTIGMATISM help unmask low cylinder astigmats
Correcting astigmatism used to be a choice between clear, stable vision or long-lasting comfort. For low cylinder astigmatic patients this meant a spherical or aspheric lens prescription that masked their condition.
Now, you have a chance to unmask these patients. Because of Accelerated Stabilization Design, ACUVUE® ADVANCE™ for ASTIGMATISM offers crisp, stable vision regardless of the activity. Because of patented HYDRACLEAR™ Technology the new lens provides immediate and all-day comfort.
Now, patients might not have to tolerate even a low level of blur that comes with masking their astigmatism.
