Fitting Tip of the Month
Why More Frequent Replacement is Better
Frequent replacement of a contact lens is better for both the patient and the practice. The ultimate in frequent replacement is the daily disposable modality. This not only provides the patient with a fresh and clean lens daily, but it eliminates the possibility of both dirty storage cases and contaminated solutions. The bonus is the convenience, which the patient will love you for recommending. Finally, with the compliance rate for daily disposables being over 90%, versus approximately 26% for the two week modality, it is significantly more profitable for the practice and almost insures the return of the patient annually for their eye exam.
