Getting the Best Vision with Astigmatic Contact Lenses
Today's toric lenses perform exceptionally well. Occasionally, a lens will rotate, reducing visual acuity. In such cases, I find it helpful to manually move the lens (with clean hands of course!) to see if vision improves. The rotation that clears vision should be what you would expect under the circumstances. If it is not, you either have the incorrect prescription in the contact lens or an incorrect axis in the spectacle refraction.
I find this to be a quick and easy method to verify the accuracy of my initial spectacle refraction axis.
