Fitting Tip of the Month
Matching New Materials and Contact Lens Care Products
In my opinion, silicone hydrogel lenses, even more than HEMA lenses, require a rub and rinse step when using MPS products to remove debris (environmental contaminants, make-up, skin oils, etc) from the lens surfaces. This simple step will maximize the lens wearing benefits of good comfort, clear vision and safety. If lens surface contamination is noted because the patient is not compliant with the rub-and-rinse step, in my practice I find that a switch to peroxide disinfection will likely resolve the problem.
