CLToday Fitting Tip of the Month

November 2004

Meeting the Oxygen Needs of the Cornea
The arrival of silicone hydrogel contact lenses allows us to offer our patients a lens that better meets the oxygen needs of the cornea than any other soft lens. When I examine an existing contact lens wearer, whether symptomatic or not, I educate him about the advantages of silicone hydrogel lenses. I find these patients are often eager to switch to the healther lens. Not only are we providing the best care for our patients, but it is a way to increase revenue with refitting fees. Everybody wins!
