Re-Enforcing Good Compliance

Both successful wear and safety are enhanced when patients are compliant with good care and good hygiene. To re-enforce this message I have all my patients fill out a form on presentation detailing their contact lens care and solutions. I go over this form with them every examination. Although labor intensive, I hope this form inspires patient compliance in those patients so inclined; and indeed some patients (sadly not all!) do seem to rise to the occasion. I try to encourage them by telling them this is their "university entrance examination." As always, safety comes first with each and every one of our patients.
