Fitting Tip of the Month
Getting Through Allergy Season
During this time of year many of our contact lens patients suffer from seasonal allergies. Often we have already prescribed oral and topical medications to help reduce their symptoms, but they are still unable to comfortably wear their contact lenses. I've found that switching many of these patients to a daily disposable lens during the allergy season brings them substantial relief and allows them to continue to wear their contact lenses. It also allows them to continue to use their topical medications as they will be replacing the lenses after each wearing. After allergy season we then have the patient switch back to their traditional modality of lens wear.
